Non-verbal communication
Yawning, staring at the ceiling and drifting to a phone are the classic non-verbal signs of falling attention — the listeners have stopped engaging with the talk.
They cannot mean deep concentration, because a listener who is concentrating keeps eye contact with the speaker and with the material.
